Take Five

I feel so noir. I was talking with Sam about Dave Brubeck's Take Five:
[15:35:13] Edem [PB]: oooh I love this song...
[15:35:22] Edem [PB]: it's so good
[15:35:31] Edem [PB]: catchy, sexy, deep and easygoing
[15:36:24] Edem [PB]: I see myself in an oldfashioned bar, with a glass of fine wine
[15:36:39] Sam: Awesome :D
[15:37:03] Edem [PB]: the air is thick, and gloomy because of the fine smell of pipeweed and cigar smoke
[15:37:04] Sam: Ah, this one :D
[15:37:15] Sam: You smoke a pipe? :D
[15:37:19] Edem [PB]: no
[15:37:25] Edem [PB]: thinking about it though
[15:37:31] Edem [PB]: but it's a bar
[15:37:44] Edem [PB]: the band is playing on a small stage, at the back wall
[15:37:50] Sam: Brick walls.
[15:37:53] Edem [PB]: it's almost midnight...
[15:37:54] Sam: Celler.
[15:37:59] Edem [PB]: celler, of course
[15:38:01] Sam: *Cellar
[15:38:03] Sam: Sorry
[15:38:06] Edem [PB]: Cellardoor! :P
[15:38:13] Edem [PB]: and it's a private bar
[15:38:25] Edem [PB]: with a goon behind the door asking 'Who sent ya?"
[15:38:42] Sam: Wooden floor. Saturated with decades of good quality lager.
[15:38:54] Sam: As are the tables
[15:39:04] Edem [PB]: my left hand drums on the bar to the rythm of the music
[15:39:14] Edem [PB]: my other hand is playing with the glass
[15:39:39] Edem [PB]: and then I hear Her voice from behind me. "Hello, mister."
[15:39:40] Sam: ...no...not the glass. Your Pipe/Cigar/Cigarette/Cheroot
[15:39:49] Edem [PB]: I don't smoke ;)
[15:39:55] Sam: You do in this scene.
[15:39:59] Edem [PB]: and obviously not by the bar
[15:40:11] Edem [PB]: if I'd smoke, I'd do it in a box
[15:40:21] Edem [PB]: (pit?)
[15:40:28] Edem [PB]: (the separated table)
[15:40:31] Sam: sure you can... actually, if it's a cigarette it can be in your rhythm tapping hand
[15:40:36] Edem [PB]: nah
[15:40:41] Edem [PB]: if I smoke, it's a pipe.
[15:40:53] Sam: ...or a cigar
[15:41:06] Edem [PB]: indubitably
[15:41:10] Edem [PB]: no, not a cigar.
[15:41:11] Edem [PB]: pipe.
[15:41:20] Edem [PB]: a good old cherrywood pipe
[15:41:27] Sam: ...although in this setting I wouldn't find the humble cigarette vulgur
[15:41:34] Edem [PB]: but you don't smoke when you're waiting for the Femme Fatale
[15:41:42] Sam: Hah!
[15:42:16] Edem [PB]: I answer in a cool voice "Name's Adam."
[15:42:21] Edem [PB]: I turn back slowly
[15:42:57] Edem [PB]: look at her red dress, the lily in her hair,
[15:43:07] Edem [PB]: and then dive into her eyes
[15:43:26] Edem [PB]: "But you can call me Ádám."
[15:43:42] Edem [PB]: "Thank you. My name's..."
[15:43:49] Edem [PB]: "Katrine. Katrine Dyrholm."
[15:44:01] Edem [PB]: "So you know my name" she doesn't look surprised.
[15:44:10] Edem [PB]: ermm... I should go back to work :D
[15:44:27] Sam: Yeah...
[15:44:57] Edem [PB]: oh, and of course everyone's dressed as if it's in the 60s
[15:45:42] Edem [PB]: have I mentioned I love this song? :D
